Home > News > Article
The Ohio State University Medical Center is one of only four centers in the United States performing a new, innovative, minimally invasive procedure to treat and potentially cure atrial fibrillation. This surgery, performed by Dr. John Sirak, is called a Total Thoracoscopic MAZE procedure and is a closed chest, beating heart procedure. It is highly effective in treating all forms of atrial fibrillation, including permanent AF. The totally thoracoscopic approach offers patients a fast recovery and minimal discomfort. To learn more about this new, innovative procedure, please click on the Patient Care tab on this website, select Atrial Fibrillation on the left and then scroll down to the Total Thoracoscopic Maze Procedure tab.
