A two-year program accredited by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery is available to residents who have completed training and are board-eligible in general surgery. Two positions are available each year, beginning July 1. Rotations, which are located at the Ohio State University Medical Center, the Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute, the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital, and Columbus Children’s Hospital, provide extensive exposure to all facets of adult and congenital cardiothoracic surgery. A third-year, non-accredited fellowship is offered in the areas of minimally invasive cardiac surgery, thoracic transplantation, and ventricular assist devices.
